GETTING HERE!

There are two ways to get to Coffman Cove--ferry or plane.
If driving, take the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System to Ketchikan. From Ketchikan, take the Inter~Island Ferry Authority to Hollis. The drive from Hollis to Coffman Cove is approximately 70 miles on paved road. Or if coming from Wrangell, the Inter~Island Ferry comes directly to Coffman Cove.

If flying, fly into Ketchikan (it’s about a two hour flight from Seattle) on Alaska Airlines and then take a floatplane directly to Coffman Cove. Pacific Airways and Taquan Air provide scheduled flights to and from Ketchikan and Coffman Cove.

COFFMAN COVE

This small community of 200 year around residents has a restaurant, library with Internet access, liquor store, gas station, post office, car rentals, laundromat at the Oceanview Campground, and The Riggin' Shack -- a small convenience store that sells fishing and hunting licenses, gifts, fish boxes, fishing gear, limited food items, and health care products.

Cell phone service is very limited—mostly at high altitudes or out on the water. There is a public telephone at the marina (a quarter mile from Salmon Shores). The guest house also has a phone; you will need a calling card for long distance calls.
There are no ATMs in Coffman Cove, best to bring Travelers' Checks, checkbook, and/or cash.
